- Experts generally agree that using 5-15 participants per qualitative user test iteration will uncover 80% of usability issues, and is the most efficient manner to conduct agile user experience testing. We have found that it is more efficient and cost-effective to conduct numerous small sample studies iteratively, and then use multivariate testing at the end of the process with larger samples to conduct final optimization.
